Glossary

This section details various relevant parts of the story. Underlined entries have links to pages that explain them in further detail (including events that take place after this story).

  • Dr. Bunsen Honeydew: A character who debuted in the first season of the 1970s-1980s TV series The Muppet Show, and one of the eponymous “Muppets”. He helped Mack train to become stronger in “Mack in Town, Part 0”.
  • Dimension 2: A part of the world of Chaos Zone. While most stories take place in “Dimension 1”, “Mack in Town” from this point onward is an exception, taking place in Dimension 2. The differences between the two “dimensions” are not currently relevant, and have nothing to do with Willowarp’s powers.
  • “Hee-ho”: The catchphrase/verbal tic of the “Jack” characters from the Megami Tensei series; in said series, it’s sometimes just shortened to the “ho” part, despite sounding like a vulgar word when shortened like such. Willowarp JKLT has a similar catchphrase/tic, but when he isn’t saying it as just “hee-ho”, he’s using it in wordplay, substituting either “hee” or “ho” with a word that rhymes or also starts with an “h” sound, hopefully reducing the risk of it sounding vulgar.
  • Mack: A character from the 1996 video game Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. A robot built by Smithy, who has long since defected from him. After training to hone his fighting prowess with the help of Dr. Bunsen Honeydew in “Mack in Town, Part 0”, Mack is now on a journey of self-discovery per Bunsen’s suggestion, hoping to find not just how to fight, but what cause to fight for.
  • Makai: A mysterious realm where powerful creatures live. YuugenMagan Visage comes from Dimension 2’s version of Makai.
  • RC No. 3: A mysterious self-driving robot car with a design based on the “RC No. 1” and “RC No. 2” enemies from the 1994 video game Live a Live.
  • Smithy: A mechanical blacksmith from the 1996 video game Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, and the creator of Mack. His desire was to create a world of weapons, but Mack defected from him on poor terms after Smithy’s plans failed.
  • Vectrex: A video game console from 1982, which drew images on the TV screen using lines, without any color filling in the shape of the lines. Due to YuugenMagan Visage not having a color to her body besides her outline, she is mockingly compared to this video game console once.
  • Willowarp JKLT: An original character heavily based on the character “Jack o’ Lantern” (or “Pyro Jack”) from the Megami Tensei series.
  • “Work Robot”: A mysterious robot with a design based on the Work Robots from the 1994 game Super Metroid. Their name is listen in quotation marks because unlike the Super Metroid robots, it’s not known if they actually do any working, or if they merely resemble the aforementioned robots.
  • Wreck Robot: A mysterious giant robot with a design based on the Work Robots from the 1994 game Super Metroid.
  • YuugenMagan: A character from the 1997 video game Touhou Reiiden ~ The Highly Responsive to Prayers. In Chaos Zone, multiple versions of YuugenMagan are known to exist: One of them (from “Dimension 1”) is played by someone else, and doesn’t appear in the story. The other (from Dimension 2) somehow split apart into multiple entities, one of them becoming the character YuugenMagan Visage.
  • YuugenMagan Visage: Also known as simply “Yuugen-V” or “Yuugen“. An original character directly based YuugenMagan from the 1997 video game Touhou Reiiden ~ The Highly Responsive to Prayers; she’s actually a fraction of said character (or at least, Dimension 2’s counterpart) who has long been separated from them. While she comes from Dimension 2, it was not the same part of Dimension 2 as the rest of the story, so there is much to Dimension 2 that she does not know.

Story

(The story picks up where “Part 0” left off, Mack being sent to the Earth of “Dimension 2” by Dr. Bunsen. The date is February 18th, 2022.
Where on Earth he is is unclear, though it’s clear he was teleported from a noticeable height above the ground.)

(Mack later wakes up in a “pocket dimension”…)

(Mack falls down to the “-1st Floor” of the pocket dimension)

(The story skips a good while forward, Mack now being on the “-10th Floor”)

(Mack and YuugenMagan Visage drop down to the “-11th Floor”)

(The story continues in “Part 2“)
